Based on musicians at the annual Blowing Rock, NC, Bluegrass Festival.  The ballad of Frankie and Johnny is based on a true story of love gone wrong.  First published in 1899, it quickly became an American favorite.  It has been rerecorded at least 265 times by the greatest artists in American jazz, rock, folk, country, blues and pop, and has spawned several movies.  Carl Sandburg included it in his American Songbag.
Assembled and sculpted from myrtle, pittosporum, incense cedar, ironwood, pear, holly, lacewood, manzanita root, teak, and ebony, on a base of Aleppo pine.  Finished with acrylic polyurethane.
